OnePlus 5 Supports Just 1.6x Optical Zoom According To Carl Pei.

So here’s what we (thought) we knew about the dual camera system of the newly unveiled OnePlus 5. It packs a 16-megapixel IMX398 main sensor with f/1.7 lens and a 20-megapixel IMX350 sensor with f/2.6 telephoto lens, and the latter takes care of the extra zooming function just as other dual camera phones do, like the iPhone 7 Plus for example.

The official page of the OnePlus 5 claims that the device offers 2.0x “lossless” zoom, but words can be deceiving as you will surely find out. According to Carl Pei (OnePlus Co-founder) the real optical zoom is 1.6x, and the rest is taken care of a special software called “SmartCapture Multiframe Technology” .

However this isn’t the only disappointment regarding the phone’s dual camera system. Yesterday PhoneArena informed us that the phones EIS during 4K video recording is poor, almost disappointing but we also got news recently that the device uses the exact same display panel as its predecessor, OnePlus 3T.

Is The Leagoo KIICAA S8 Going to Be The First MT6763 Phone ?

Some breaking new from the Leagoo side today, because they just revealed they are working on some pretty non-budget for a change. And looks like with their new KIICAA series of phones, specifically with the KIICAA S8 they can claim the world’s first title utilizing the upcoming Mediatek MT6763 chipset.

From the only picture available it looks like the phone will be looking pretty much like the Samsung S8 and just like it it should be sporting the 18:9 aspect ratio. After all the name could be already a pretty strong hint towards the Samsung resemblance. From what we know so far the phone should be equipped with the aforementioned MT6763 chipset, 4GB/6GB RAM, 64GB/128GB ROM, 5.72-inch/5.99-inch display with 1440×720 pixel resolution. And looks like there is a dual camera with fingeprint scanner on the back too.

There will be also some derived versions KIICAA S8 Lite and S8 Premium, so probably some of the choices above will be tied to these models. The price for the model with highest specs shouldn’t allegedly exceed the $300 mark and the phones should enter the market roughly in 2 months. Looking forward to that.

Poll: OnePlus 5

After months of speculation, the OnePlus 5 was finally revealed and all the specs released to the public. The big surprise this time around was the total lack of a surprise. We had all seen images of the OP5 well ahead of launch, and the specifications that were suggested by insiders all came true.

This time around the OnePlus 5 has been developed to address an area that OnePlus was struggling with, the camera. The rear of the phone features a dual camera design and is now marketed as a camera-centric flagship.

While the camera is an obvious update, there are some areas that OnePlus have still not quite caught up with the competition. For example, the new phone isn’t waterproof, there are some question marks over the screen and the design is an obvious iPhone knock off and also happens to be almost the same as the Oppo R11.

Regardless of those points the hardware all looks solid, Oxygen OS looks more mature than ever and we’re sure the build quality is going to be up to scratch.

The world’s leading trade show will take place next September (between 1-6 of the same month) and if all goes well we will see the Korean flagship there for the first time. The information comes from Korean publication ETNews and it aligns with earlier info saying that the V30 will be unveiled in August. The latest information suggests that the LG V30 could be equipped with a Snapdragon 835 chipset, OLED display with VR support, new ESS Quad-DAC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, IP68 certification, dual camera on the back and maybe a dual selfie camera like the original V10.

Do you think the LG V30 stands any chance in front of the Galaxy Note8?
