More Details Of Nokia 8 Sirocco – SD845 & IP67 Certified

HMD executives have announced on Twitter that Nokia will release “surprising” products at MWC 2018, however, the company did not disclosed what will be released. According to some sources, this surprise is most likely the Nokia 8 Sirocco, because of the recent Thai certification document which shows a TA-1005 new device. Also, a recent camera application suggests that the Nokia 8 Sirocco is coming soon. In the past, Nokia phones with Sirocco names were mostly advanced products for handsets. For example, the former Nokia 8800 Sirocco. If HMD Global used the Sirocco name for Nokia 8, it means that the new machine will be based on Nokia 8.

Reports have it that the Nokia 8 Sirocco will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM. Its lights will be sustained by a 3250mAh while its camera department will boast of a 12MP + 13MP dual Zeiss camera and a 5MP selfie shooter. Also, this smartphone will be IP67 waterproof and dustproof and it will support wireless charging. In terms of its pricing, rumors have it that it will cost about 5000 Yuan ($793)
In addition to the Nokia 8 Sirocco, HMD Global is also expected to unveil the Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 1, as well as the engraved E71. We are keeping a close tab on MWC related events and will inform you ASAP.

LG Mobile Quits The Chinese Smartphone Market

Last week, South Korean manufacturing giant, LG, released its financial results for 2017. For the past two years, LG’s mobile business has suffered huge losses and it only managed to get a meager gain in the first quarter of 2017. Looking at the values that were released last week, the company lamented that the competition from Chinese brands is pushing it out of business in China. Now, reports coming out of China suggests that LG is pulling out of the Chinese smartphone market. A representative of the company at its Beijing office said
“LG MOBILE PHONE BUSINESS HAS QUIT CHINA.”

LG’s mobile decision to quit the largest smartphone market in the world is directly linked to its gain in only one quarter out of a possible eleven since the beginning of 2015. The Chinese market is highly saturated and even the local small players are gaining some grounds. Reports have it that throughout 2016, LG sold only 160,000 units in China out of an estimated 480 million total shipments. LG didn’t launch any smartphone in China in 2017, the last device it launched in China was the LG G5 SE which arrived in May 2016. LG will now have to focus on the North American and European markets but it will face stiff competition from the likes of Samsung, Apple, and perhaps some Chinese brands like Huawei and Xiaomi.

Chinese smartphone manufacturers have been quite impressed with its products and prices in recent times and manufacturing bigwigs like Samsung and Apple is even losing some grip on the Chinese and Indian smartphone market. In other news, LG won’t be launching the G7 at MWC this year but it will release upgraded LG V30+ smartphone. Do you think LG can make a significant impact in the smartphone market in North America and Europe? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.

Time Magazine Thinks OnePlus 5T Is Worth Buying

The competition is high in all niches. The top brands have at least one representative in each of them. But the customers recognize a brand due to annual flagships. That’s why the manufacturers pay the most attention to the high-end products. And though the top five is led by Apple and Samsung, there are other companies doing their best to find their place under the sun. Besides the aforementioned top companies, the smartphones market is also led by Huawei, Xiaomi, and OPPO. In this sense, we have to pay tribute to the Chinese smartphone makers that are gaining momentum nowadays. As you see, OnePlus is missing. But it doesn’t mean this manufacturer is out of the game. Recently, Time Magazine came in with an interesting article titled ‘The 5 Best Smartphones You Can Buy Right Now’. Guess what! The OnePlus 5T was the only Chinese model appeared on the list.

As you guess, the pricing doesn’t matter. That’s why the list includes such models as the iPhone X, iPhone 8/8 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+, and Google Pixel 2/2XL. If the OnePlus 5T competes with such beasts, we can assume the influencer, such as Time Magazine has found something interesting in it.
The first thing Time Magazine wants the buyers to take a look at is the price. It notes though the OnePlus 5T costs a few hundreds of dollars less than the Samsung Galaxy S8 and roughly half the price of the iPhone X, it is quite good. What’s more interesting, the OP5T comes with an AMOLED screen that provides an outstanding viewing experience. Apart from this, the phone is packed with a dual-camera, which captures crisp and bold photos. Finally, the source mentions a couple of shortcomings. Among them, the most noteworthy is incompatibleness with Verizon or Sprint.

Camera Issues Hit Oreo Powered Xiaomi Mi A1

Xiaomi first stock Android smartphone, Xiaomi Mi A1, is on the news again. In recent times, there has been a lot of complaint with respect to the Android Oreo rollout to the Mi A1. This update was suspended twice before the third and final push but it seems that the problems still persist. A few days ago, there were reports of swift battery drainand fingerprint scanner issues on this smartphone after updating to Android Oreo. Now fresh reports suggests that the camera functionality is also affected. The camera problems are numerous, while some users complained of broken portrait mode, others highlighted a “forced close” when you click on certain settings/edit buttons after taking a picture. Other complaints include poor shutter response, flickering, poor picture quality, and camera failures.

“CAMERA NOW HAS BIG PROBLEMS. WHEN I OPEN IT SOMETIMES THE SCREEN TURN BLACK OR ARE SOME BLACK LINES ON THE SCREEN AND HAS BIG LAG, NOW CAPTURE LESS DETAILED PHOTOS, MORE NOISE AND FOCUS PROBLEMS EVEN IN GOOD LIGHT CONDITIONS AND ALL OF THIS AFTER OREO UPDATE”
There complains are pouring in from all angles both on the MIUI official forum where many threads have been opened and even on social media. However, the presence of these issues has been acknowledged by the company. A member of the MIUI Bug Hunter Teamsaid that users should wait for the next update.

His response is obviously a hollow pipe because there are no details as to when we should be expecting the fix. However, we can only hope that the team is currently working on these issues. The general advises for Xiaomi Mi A1 users right now is “DO NOT UPDATE TO ANDROID OREO”. We are keeping a close tab on the development and will update you ASAP.

Huawei Honor 9 Youth Edition Benchmark Results

On December 21, 2017, the leading smartphone maker in China held a new conference and announced a thousand-yuan machine dubbed as the Huawei Honor 9 Youth Edition. The latter comes with the trendiest full-screen of 5.65 inches, its own-made chip in face of the Kirin 659, 3/4GB of RAM, 32/64GB of internal storage, 3000mAh battery, 13+2MP rear camera, Android 8.0 (EMUI 8.0) and so on. As you see, the Honor 9 Lite comes with a decent specs list, but there are too many smartphones coming our way from Chinese manufacturers and sporting identical features. However, when it comes to real performance, most of them fail. To understand whether this model is capable of implementing daily tasks, we are coming with a few benchmark results.

First, the Huawei Honor 9 Youth Edition scores 87.861 points at the newest AnTuTu. This is not a great result, but in comparison to other phones from the same niche, this device performs quite well. Look, the Meizu M6 Note scores 62K, while the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus reaches 63K only.
The phone scores almost identical points at Master Lu benchmark. It shows the Huawei Honor 9 Youth Edition is a classic mid-range smartphone providing a performance similar to the Huawei Honor 7X.
At last, the Honor 9 Lite showcases 906 points at a single-core test, and 3609 points at a multi-core test when testing via Geekbench 4.0. The overall performance is identical to the Snapdragon 625 chip.
Of course, the phone was tested for gaming purposes as well. Three games were played on the Huawei Honor 9 Youth Edition. All of them including Honor of Kings, Wilderness Action, and Chinese CrossFire were played quite smoothly. Though the phone doesn’t support the 60fps mode, 30-40fps rate is quite enough for normal playing.

So we can say, those who have been worrying about the performance provided by this phone can sit tight. Everything in this phone is well-thought.

Octopus Tripod for Universal Action Camera / Smartphone

This is a review for: Moonor Universal Flexible Adjustable Octopus Tripod Stand with Smartphone Holder Mount for SLR DSLR Cameras

I ordered this tripod because I'd seen videos of peop

le using similar ones online and thought they looked really cool, I have a friend who enjoys making film and just bought a new DSLR camera so decided to get him this as a small secret Santa Christmas present. I also liked how this could be used with both a smartphone and any camera with the standard mount hole.

The product comes in a simple cardboard box, inside the box is the following:
1x Flexible Tripod
1x Smartphone mount for Tripod
1x Bluetooth Remote Shutter for smartphones

The tripod is easy to use, you bend the legs over whatever you want it to grip around, or you can straighten them out and use it as a (short) ordinary tripod. You can then rotate the camera or tilt it up and down by loosening the screw clamp, moving the camera and tightening it again. Here's a picture of my own DSLR hanging upside down from a pole.

To attach your camera, the best thing to do is to detach the mounting clip from the top of the tripod. Screw in the top thumb screw and this allows you to push the release button and remove the clip. Then screw this clip into your camera or the phone mount and then put it back on the tripod.
This mounting clip allows you to easily remove the camera from the tripod and put it back on without having to unscrew and re-screw it each time.

The smartphone mount is useful, with the tripod and the Bluetooth shutter button it's useful for taking group photos. To insert your phone you pull the top part of the mount and put your phone in. One problem I found was that I had to apply quite a bit of force to fit my OnePlus One in (similar dimensions to the iPhone 6 Plus), it's quite a small smartphone clip.

The Bluetooth shutter button is easy to use, simply pair it to your phone in the Bluetooth settings menu as usual.

liked the way the tripod has a spirit level on it so you can make sure your photos are taken level.

Overall I would recommend this tripod, there are other big brand equivalents of this flexible tripod however I couldn't see any way this one is inferior to those, this one is much cheaper. The recipient of this gift really liked it!

Get the iPhone 8 latest edition. Steve Jobs would've been proud! : https://goo.gl/DydBwy

Don’t know about you, but I always enjoy looking at videos with clones of well known smartphones, particularly if they’re impressive. I guess this leaked video falls into this denomination as it shows an iPhone 8 clone with an impressive make over!

Get the iPhone 8 latest edition. Steve Jobs would've been proud! : https://goo.gl/DydBwy

The news comes from a microblogger called @DigitalChatStation, who gave us this leaked video showing an… iPhone 8-like device with a…. twist. The phone has an iPhone 7 camera set-up rotated 90 degrees clockwise, its TouchID sensor has been movable to its back side just below the Apple logo and its offering is huge, with minimal bezels, resembling the general features of the Infinity Display found on the Galaxy S8 flagship.

What’s also very interesting however, is a second image that shows a rendered/fake iPhone 8 that resembles even more the design of the Galaxy S8 model, with an impressive springboard setup as you can see for yourselves. Obviously the images that appear here are possibly fakes but still, it doesn’t hurt to believe that Apple could “borrow'” the most impressive features of the S8 and incorporate them into the iPhone 8 design/hardware, does it?

Leagoo T5c is going to be the first with Spreadtrum S9853i CPU

Last week we have advised you about the upcoming releasing of the new Leagoo T5c phone, but with its CPU we indeed guessed wrong. But to our vindication, if you see “8-core” CPU in a description of slash midrange model, you are automatically guessing MT6750. But that’s not the case here, because the T5c will be really world’s first with the Spreadtrum S9853i processor.

Spreadtrum S9853i CPU is coming from the chinese Intel’s partner company and it’s based on pretty modern 14nm FinFET technology and the 64-bit Intel Airmont architecture. It has eight Intel X86 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz, Mali-T820MP2 GPU and the Antutu benchmark results are showing it should be roughly 40% more powerful than the MT6750. Not bad at all.
Aside from the new CPU the Leagoo T5c will be equipped with 5,5-inch Sharp FHD IPS display, 3 GB RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, dual rear camera Samsung 13MP + OV 2MP, LG 3000 mAh battery with 5V/2A quick charge and and the similar metal design as the T5 brother with the front facing fingeprint scanner.

A listing at retailer B&H has sort of assured its impending arrival in the US market. The listing is for a Nokia 2 TA-1035 variant in Black and White color models. The pricing is revealed to be $99 for the Dual-SIM model in the US. That’s pretty tinny for a smartphone, even if it’s a low-end device.
The Nokia 2 is predictable
